Final three calculators ship: student loan payoff, rent affordability, home sale capital gains

Completed a 20-calculator expansion with three more tools: student loan payoff with extra payments, rent affordability using the 30 percent rule and 50/30/20, and home sale capital gains with the Section 121 exclusion. That brought the site to 63 calculators at the time; see the calculators index for the current count.

We shipped the final three calculators of the expansion. Student loan payoff shows how extra or larger payments shorten your payoff and cut total interest. Rent affordability finds a comfortable rent budget from your income using the 30 percent rule and the 50/30/20 framework. Home sale capital gains estimates the federal tax on selling your primary home after the Section 121 exclusion, using verified 2026 long-term capital gains brackets and the net investment income tax.

This completed the 20-calculator plan and brought the site to 63 calculators as of this entry’s date (the live count is on the calculators index). Every new tool shares one calculation engine with tested, decimal-precise math, cites its assumptions to primary sources, and shows a last-reviewed date.
